Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Čajka, PhD., head of the research Laboratory of Translational Metabolism and service Department of Metabolomics, has been named to the 2025 Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers List, recognizing scientists whose work ranks among the top 1% by citations worldwide. This honour highlights Tomáš’s long-term and meaningful contributions to analytical chemistry and metabolomics. Tomáš Čajka is the author of 125 scientific publications, which have garnered over 11,000 citations, elevating his H-index to 49. His research utilises mass spectrometry-based techniques to perform metabolomic and lipidomic analyses of various biological samples and drugs in clinical trials. He is constantly innovating in this field of knowledge, as evidenced by a recently commercialized patent. Tomáš Čajka is also the coordinator of metabolomic analyses in clinical samples using a newly acquired liquid chromatograph coupled with a mass spectrometer (LC–MS) within the CarDia project – the National Institute for Research of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases, in which IPHYS closely collaborates with the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague.
