A billion euros from European funds to change the treatment of metabolic diseases. Institutions involved in the CarDia project have come up with research that will help in the treatment of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and aging.

Together, they cause more deaths than cancer. That is why research into metabolic diseases has become the focus of the CarDia project of the National Institute for Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease Research – historically one of the largest Czech project of its kind, which has brought together five centers of scientific, research, and clinical excellence: IKEM, The Institute of Physiology of the CAS, The Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS, Masaryk University in Brno and Charles University.
