From April 7–10, 2025, the World Diabetes Congress took place in Bangkok, Thailand — a major event organized by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), which unites over 240 national associations from 161 countries. The congress focused on the latest challenges and solutions in the treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes, which is estimated to affect 589 million people worldwide as of 2024 — nearly half of whom are unaware of their diagnosis.

The Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) was represented by:

MUDr. Natália Marhefková, MUDr. Luděk Horváth, MUDr. Peter Novodvorský, and Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Michal Dubský, Ph.D., who jointly presented five expert posters focused on advanced research and clinical care for patients with diabetes.

Assoc. Prof. Dubský, who is also a member of the CarDia team, expressed his gratitude to colleagues and international partners for their fruitful collaboration.
